چکیده
Groundwater is critical to the socioeconomic development of any region. Infiltration surface water into ground influenced by a variety factors such as soil pores, folds, fractures, faults, and joints, all which contribute groundwater recharge. an important source freshwater in drought-prone Pudukkottai district Tamil Nadu, India. Therefore, search for potential zones (GWPZs) critical. The present study focuses on investigation using geospatial techniques. Geology, land use cover, geomorphology, soil, drainage density, lineament, levels were obtained from state non-state associations. ArcGIS version 10.8 was used create thematic layers classified grids. intensive arid semiarid regions becoming problem public meet their needs. condition semi-arid due extraction has become one most environmental problems public. In this study, powerful mapping technique developed integrated remote sensing data GIS-AHP. Using AHP techniques, geology, followed drainage, density lineament slope, level, lithological parameters created, classified, weighted, GIS environment. According results it estimated that 14% area good, 49% moderate 36% poor. A level map verify potential. addition, model validated with single-layer sensitivity analysis, showed geology influential layer least layer. low-potential areas identified can be further identify ideal locations artificial low areas, find table must raised recharge structures infiltration basins, pits, agricultural ponds. Artificial ponds zones. GWPZ successfully three proxy data, number wells, well inventory information. will improve our understanding geographic analysis help policy makers more sustainable supply systems.
